I spent much of my life fighting against all the “shoulds” and expectations of others. It seemed to me that everyone got the manual on how and who to be and I was the only one who didn’t “get it.” I thought that no one would love me unless I fit into this box that everyone else seemingly fit into.

I came to realize that my thoughts and behaviors kept me little, small and unseen. That I cannot control others thoughts, actions, or their doubt or feeling towards me. I can, however, become aware of how these pieces impact me, how these old wounds may become raw again when pressed and how I can best help myself when I feel anxious, angry, scared, and human. Kavita and I created ReLearning Human to provide a space for you to explore your own human experience, whatever that looks like for you.

I provide confidential talk-therapy to adults and parents in a safe and comfortable environment where you will be supported to develop healthy perceptions of yourself, strengthen relationships, and uncover personal barriers to restore a sense of peace. I believe life is a continuous learning process where, with each passing day, we learn more about what we need in order to be the healthiest version of ourselves.

I combine a relational approach and methods of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness Based Therapy and Emotionally-Focused Therapy to help you address personal obstacles and regain a sense of clarity, acceptance, and direction.

My work is based in anti-oppressive practice and attachment theory, while drawing from personal training and experience in healthcare and community practice settings. I utilize tools and skills from acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and mindfulness-based practices.
